Remember Pinocchio?
Wherever Pinocchio went, Jiminy Cricket was on Pinocchio’s shoulder as his official conscience.
Sometimes Pinocchio wished his conscience wasn’t always present but when he listened to Jiminy it saved him from further trouble.
If you think of a Jiminy Cricket on your shoulder, you can think of him in the way Anna Quindlen described him in the June, 2011 issue of Good Housekeeping.
“There is a Jiminy Cricket on your shoulder, giving the very best advice.
Sometimes it’s hard to hear Jiminy/your authentic voice because all the external voices are so loud, so shrill, so adamant.
Voices that loud are always meant to bully.
Do not be bullied.
Your Acts Of Bravery
Acts of bravery don’t always take place on the battlefields.
They can take place in your heart, when you have the courage to honor your character, your intellect, your inclinations, and, yes, your soul by listening to its clean, clear voice of direction instead of following the muddled messages of a timid world.
So carry your courage in an easily accessible place, the way you do your cell phone or your wallet. You may still falter or fali, but you will always know that you pushed hard and aimed high.”
How did this resonate for you?

Such a nice post, Cherry. I rely so much on my inner Jiminy. I can remember each time that I heard my inner voice and ignored it. There was always a dear price to pay. Thanks for raising awareness of the validity and credibility of our inner voices. It so often saves the day. ~Dawn
Dawn,
I thought that was nice too. I like Anna Quindlen a lot and the way she thinks and writes. Cherry
